Comfortable Yoga Trousers
| Yoga Clothing |

Yoga can be somewhat challenging, both physically and mentally. To make sure you receive all the main benefits from practising yoga, yo need to be very relaxed, and make sure your mind doesn't wander too far from this relaxation process. You may not think it, but something as minor as choosing the right pair of yoga trousers will help you on your way to acheiving full relaxation. Why, you ask? Let me explain ...
If the yoga trousers (or 'yoga pants' to any Americans that might be reading this) you presently wear cause any type of irritation - such as being itchy, too small, too tight, too big, too loose, too long, too thick ... I could go on, but will stop there for the time being - this will make for a very uncomfortable yoga session. Your mind will not be able to focus on the task at hand and you will lose out on the main benefits that yoga has to offer.
Of course there are other types of yoga clothing, such as yoga socks, shorts, shirts etc ... but yoga trousers probably have the most affect, and are far more likely to be uncomfortable than those other types of clothes. If all you're thinking about is the fact that your belly is protruding out of your yoga trousers during the whole session, there's not much you can do about it!
So, what are the features you should be looking for in a great pair of yoga trousers?
Most importantly, make sure that the material is of good quality and is breathable. This will make sure you don't get too hot and sticky during the exercise.
Next, make sure the material isn't itchy. You're generally going to be ok with this, even if taking a chance by ordering your yoga trousers online, but try to stick to cotton to avoid potential discomfort from other fabrics.
Make sure the trousers are going to fit properly - we don't want you thinking about the fact that someone can see your 'builders bum' poking out the back when you bend over!
Will the yoga trousers be easily move-able? In other words, will you be able to bend and perform all the postures without any restriction in movement? It's no good if you can't perform all the exercises because you are aren't wearing the right clothing.
Lastly, moving away from the functional aspects of yoga trousers, to appearance....
If you are just going to be practising your yoga in the comfort of your home, then appearances won't really matter too much but, depending on how vain you are, you might want to make sure your clothing looks good if you're going to be doing yoga in public - such as at a gym class.
Another thing to bear in mind is the colour. If you sweat a lot during exercise, you might want to go for a black or white pair. Try and avoid a light grey colour as this will no doubt show your sweat patches to the whole world - well those people you come in contact with anyway.
Bottom line is that your yoga trousers will need to feel comfortable enough that you don't think about them at all during exercise. If they start to cause you problems, get another pair as soon as possible that WILL be more comfortable.
